Monday's Random Thoughts

Been preoccupied all day ... Mainly by the Lakers slapping the taste out of San Antonio's mouth. Titles aren't won in March, but I LIKE this result ... So, Benji Marshall has been given the a-ok to play in round one of the NRL despite being charged with assault? Most Manly fans would be outraged, given Brett Stewart copped four weeks after being accused of sexual assault just before the '09 season. I'm not convinced this is apples and apples given the respective nature of the alleged offences. If Manly were playing the Tigers in round one though ... I touched on it last night, but South Africa's choke against England in the Cricket World Cup is a dark sign of things to come for the Proteas, regardless of what their captain Graeme Smith has to say ... I'm glad to see the A-League got the grand final it deserved, with premiers Brisbane hosting runners-up Central Coast. I'll do a more expansive preview later in the week, but if the game is anything like the last one where these teams met it will be worthy of the occasion. Also, I believe this will be the first A-League decider not played in Sydney or Melbourne ... In the EPL, Newcastle messed up at home again, probably putting a big dint in their European ambitions, while the Red Merseyside Scum Liverpool thrashed leaders Man United. I still think Fergie and Co will win yet another title.
